A documentary project featuring “Suhayl" William Barlow II, more colloquially known as “Bird on Film,” a film photographer and local Cambridge artist that I had the pleasure of photographing in his space.

The photos were taken in between conversations. Some of them happened to find bits and pieces of Suhayl's story, while others were shot more promptly at what you would call a beat in a script.

Suhayl is a fighter, a friend, and an inspiration, not only in an artistic sense but also in that of character. He is steadfast in his values and relentlessly treads towards bettering himself and the community that has brought him light. A true force of nature.

 

The photographs were taken on Kodak 400TX 120mm film, developed and printed by myself.
